Here are a few ideas you can implement to keep safe this Thanksgiving.

The holidays are all about sharing love with family and friends. However, Thanksgiving this year is likely going to be a bit unconventional due to the pandemic. Everyone needs to make connections with others, but how do we celebrate Thanksgiving in the middle of a health crisis? Here are a few ideas:

1. Skip traveling. You may need to pass on the travel plans this year. Standing in line with thousands of other people trying to get onto planes, trains, and automobiles isn’t the best idea right now. Staying at home and having a smaller group for dinner with people who have limited their exposure is safer. You may also want to consider preparing meals and delivering them to those who are ill or at high risk of contracting COVID-19, without contact, of course. Additionally, you can prepare gift baskets for friends and family and drop them off at their doors.

“Everyone needs to make connections with others.”

2. Virtual ideas. If you Google “the best virtual Thanksgiving ideas,” you’ll find hundreds of ideas to help you celebrate this holiday safely and with social distancing in mind. You could also pre-order your dinner from a local restaurant or grocery store, then get together with loved ones virtually to eat and chat from your own homes. In addition, Black Friday should probably also be an all-online experience this year.

These are just a few of my ideas about what we can do to have a safe but still enjoyable Thanksgiving. I’d love to hear your thoughts and what you plan to do to celebrate this year. Please call, text, or email me anytime if you want to share or have any questions concerning real estate.

One last thought: It’s time for turkey, that much is true. It’s also time for me to say how much I appreciate you! Please have a safe and happy holiday season.
